Power and the Passion is the fourth studio album by German progressive rock band Eloy, released in 1975. The album features a mythical, cosmic or mystical plot and is a brilliant transition from a somewhat chaotic semi-psychedelic art to a deeper and more emotional sound. The album is the first part of a diptych (the second being the album 'Dawn' released a year later). The album's first song, 'Journey into 1358', has a slow and calm start with organ in the background, reminiscent of Pink Floyd, and the melody sometimes has 'medieval' notes. The album is a great example of the once flourishing art rock style.
